GX-06 / COMPARE
Launchpad vs Lovable
Lovable is the bigger, more complete product: more templates, a huge community, an MCP server on every plan, and a built-in cloud. Launchpad is cheaper to start, never charges you for a build that fails, shows the price of every turn before it runs, and exports a real repository on the free plan. Pick Lovable for ecosystem; pick Launchpad if credit burn on the agent's own mistakes is what drove you here.

An edge is a judgement, not a score. The note under a row says why it fell the way it did.
| Launchpad | Lovable | Edge | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What a turn costs, and when you learn it | Credits per turn, with the price shown before the turn runs and the tokens, model and sandbox time shown after | Build messages cost 0.5 to 2 credits, deducted after the message | Launchpad |
| Paying for the agent's mistakes | 0 credits. A turn that errors is waived under the Fair Turn Guarantee | The top complaint in Lovable's one-star reviews: credits spent fixing errors Lovable introduced, no refund | Launchpad |
| Code ownershipBoth export. Lovable's own admin feature to restrict downloads is why this is not a tie. | A real Vite + React + TypeScript repository, on every plan including Free | GitHub sync and download; admins can restrict code downloads on Business | Launchpad |
| BackendA non-technical user reaches a working backend faster on Lovable. | Vite + React + TypeScript + Tailwind + shadcn/ui; Supabase optional | Lovable Cloud built in (database, auth, storage) plus Supabase | Lovable |

- You want templates, tutorials and a community to lean on.
- You want a backend without wiring Supabase yourself.

- You want the free plan to work in one sitting, not five credits a day.
- You want the repository in your hands from day one.
Questions
Asked before switching.
- Is Launchpad cheaper than Lovable?
- To start, yes: $19 against $25 a month. Per build it depends on the build, because the two products count credits differently. Launchpad shows the price of each turn before it runs, so you can check.
- Does Lovable charge for failed builds?
- Yes. Since August 2026 Lovable caps this with ten free fixes; beyond that, credits spent on a message that breaks your app are gone. Launchpad waives any turn that errors.
- Can I export my code from both?
- Yes. Lovable syncs to GitHub and allows downloads, though a Business admin can switch downloads off. Launchpad exports a full Vite + React repository on every plan, including Free.
- Which has the better free plan?
- They grant the same 30 credits a month. Lovable meters them at five a day, so a first project takes a week; Launchpad lets you spend all 30 in one session.
- Does Launchpad have an MCP server like Lovable?
- Not yet. Lovable's is live on every plan and listed in the Claude connector directory. Launchpad's is on the roadmap.
- Which is safer for a published app?
- Lovable added scanning on all plans after a 2025 vulnerability exposed apps with missing row-level security. Launchpad ships a security badge with every publish recording the checks it passed, and asks before the agent does anything risky. Neither replaces reading the code.
- Can I bring my own Supabase to either?
- Yes on both. Lovable also offers its own built-in cloud; Launchpad keeps Supabase optional and separate.
- Can I move a Lovable project to Launchpad?
- Export the repository from Lovable, then import the folder into Launchpad. It is a Vite + React project on both sides, so most projects build without changes.
- How big is each company?
- Lovable reported $500M in annualised revenue in June 2026 and raised at a $13.3B valuation in August. Launchpad is a small team with a handful of users. That is a real difference in support depth and in how much can break.
